The Owl Creeks-Motivation (Kelly Rowland cover)
AAAHHHHTHIS IS MY FRIEND ALLY SINGING AND KELLY ROWLAND JUST TWEETED THE VIDEO AND SHE IS ACTUALLY THE BEST. JUST WATCH THAT.
Opening night for Don Giovanni! A lively, creative show that really plays up the comedic aspect of this famous opera buffa, Opera Atelier’s Don Giovanni is absolutely divine. At the post-show reception at the Westin, I got to get dressed up and drink fancy-ass wine (on somebody else’s bar tap) and schmooze with some of the most talented humans I’ve ever met. I am so overwhelmingly grateful for this opportunity…operatunity (BAH). My mind is made up. I want to go to a conservatory after Kenyon. I know it’s the biggest pipedream EVER EVER EVER, but I just know I’m gonna kick myself if I get to the end of my years and ask why I didn’t at least give this world a try. If there’s even the slightest chance to be a part of productions like this in the future, then I really do think it’s worth it. Sometimes you just gotta put a little trust in the world.
Oh, and one more thing. Today is my six month anniversary of Project 365. Damn, you go gurl.
^^wonderful human bean.
AIN’T NO PARTY LIKE A HOSPITAL PARTY ‘CAUSE A HOSPITAL PARTY IS SANITARY.
I owe these guys so so so much. Yesterday was a bit traumatic to say the least. What was looking out to be a really incredible photo adventure turned sour when this dingus took a bad step in the decaying, abandoned house we were in and fell straight through to the cellar. There happened to be some sizable glass shards from a punched in door in the spot where I fell, so I ended up with a deep gash all down my calf. Of course, I was manic as fuck, but my heroic, rational, wonderful friends carried me to the nearest road, called an ambulance, and skillfully lied to me about the severity of the wound to calm me down. While we were waiting for EMS, they knocked on the door of the first house we could find to get some help, and a little old lady came out and held my hand and talked to me about cats. I’m going to bake her cookies.
yep. so. I am now intimately accquainted with the triage unit at Knox County Hospital. And in my defense, I seriously didn’t think you needed stitches.
Tober is boss at calculus.
Additionally, all I ever want to do is take pictures and sing. WHY CAN’T I JUST DO THAT? WHYYYYYY?
THIS IS OCTOBER (TOBER/TOBY) and he is THE SNUGGLIST. He napped on my belly today as I watched a show about dinosaurs and sneezed and I fed him a rat cupcake.
Secret Rats are the best.
This installation is stunning. If you haven’t already checked out Matt Davis’s art installation on middle path, please do.
Probably my favorite piece of art I have seen.
He took a story of some sort, cut it into pieces, put each piece in an envelope and wrote the full name of every person in the school on one.
She said that my gifts made her uncomfortable.
It was just so beautiful.
This is my incredible roommate Hanna, and she deserves all good things in the world.
Also, today was the most ideal. An evening of spliffs on da crozier porch, swimming in the kokosing, lesbians on scooters, homemade indonesian noodles, and sunset blush. I love everything.
I also love everything about that day.
these are [some of] my favorite people ever. they understand my feelings and enthusiasm and fondness for platonic hand-holding and kisses and strange voices and strange hairstyles and dancing and complete irreverence for everyone else’s judgement.
