This is beautiful and it’s amazing to me that it had such a positive outcome and not lifelong hateful grudges, which is probably what these attackers deserved.

This is perfect and beautiful and amazing

Yep, those are tears coming down. This is one of the most beautiful pieces I ever read.

Damn, the level of compassion, strength and understanding you’d need to have in order to do this..

women are strong as hell

Canadian music festival takes huge step against Native appropriation

From their announcement:

For various reasons, Bass Coast Festival is banning feathered war bonnets, or anything resembling them, onsite. Our security team will be enforcing this policy.

We understand why people are attracted to war bonnets. They have a magnificent aesthetic. But their spiritual, cultural and aesthetic significance cannot be separated.

Bass Coast Festival takes place on indigenous land and we respect the dignity of aboriginal people. We have consulted with aboriginal people in British Columbia on this issue and we feel our policy aligns with their views and wishes regarding the subject. Their opinion is what matters to us.

See is that so fucking hard?

if ever someone tries to convince you that there is only one path to success just remind yourself that miuccia prada earned a PhD in political science then became a mime then a member of the italian communist party then a women’s rights activist then became one of the world’s most iconic designers then opened an art gallery and is now the ninth richest woman in the world

“There’s this Japanese story—about a woman who loved this man, her soulmate from childhood. Her parents made her marry a farmer. She ran off anyway with her soul mate and had kids with him. Years later, she comes back to her family and says: “I’m sorry I ran away.” And they say: “What? You’ve been here the whole time, you’ve been ill, in bed.” And she meets the other version of herself, this ghost, and she embraces this woman, and they become one person. And it’s this Buddhist parable, like: which one is the ghost?

Ever since I left you I thought that in some parallel ghost world we had kids we rowed by a canal…I thought part of me would be a ghost forever, without you. I was no longer real even when I was happy. But no, all along in real time you’ve gone on being you and I’ve gone on being me and yes I really love you enough to be ghosted by you my entire life but my God I left you for a reason.”
